"Last year was the first year that we raced at Homestead and not many people tested before we went. This year I think the race will be much more competitive because all the teams will have put together a strong set of notes from information gathered there last fall. I like the track now. Most places wouldn't have made the changes they did to make it safer, but Homestead did and I think it's a great facility now. You can't really pick a favorite for the race because we've only run one race there, but I don't see any reason why the "M&M's" Pontiac wouldn't be at the front."--Ken Schrader * The "M&M's" Pontiac Ken Schrader will drive this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway has four previous starts in the 2000 season. This particular "M&M's" Pontiac raced at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, California Speedway, the second Pocono race and at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October. In all instances the "M&M's" Racing Team enjoyed solid performances, including leading a handful of laps in California. A rain shortened event in Vegas and a caution that came eight laps too late in California kept the team from collecting top-10 finishes in both events.
* The "M&M's" Racing Team did not test at Homestead-Miami Speedway, but teammate Johnny Benson spent time at the two-day test. The information will be shared between the two teams.
* Last weekend was tough going for the "M&M's" Racing Team, but they have already put that behind them and are looking ahead to Homestead-Miami Speedway. The team suffered two flat right front tires during the race, but Goodyear discovered a culprit for the second tire. The first flat is still a mystery as there wasn't enough left of the tire to examine, but Schrader said that with the amount of debris on the track it would be no surprise if he ran over something that in turn cut the tire.
