NASCAR BGN: Fedewa ready to go out with a bang at Homestead

Going Out With A Bang ...Tim Fedewa hopes he can cap off the 2000 season by putting his No. 36 car back in victory lane, and winning one for sponsor Stanley and the entire team.
Stanley announced in July that the 2000 season would be their last in the NASCAR Busch Series. The tool company has been involved with the Busch Series for almost 10 years and is one of the sport's longest running sponsors.
"Stanley has been a loyal supporter of the NASCAR Busch Series for many years," Fedewa said. "The team and I have enjoyed working with them over the past two years, and it's a shame to see them leave the series. I hope that this weekend we can send them out on a good note with a trip to victory lane."
Close, But No Cigar ... Fedewa has had an exciting and interesting history at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The first year the Busch Series traveled to Miami, Fedewa crossed the start-finish line in second place. Since then, he's posted two other top 10's, and twice he has moved into the top 15 after starting with a provisional.
"This is a big race, and we'd really like to give ourselves the perfect opportunity to be in victory lane," Fedewa said. "We're really going to put an emphasis on qualifying. A lot of cars make the trip to Miami every year because it is the last race, and everybody has something up their sleeve. We really want to qualify well and hopefully win."
2000 Memories...As the season comes to a close, Fedewa and his team have taken the time to reflect on the 2000 season. It's been a season of ups and downs, but Fedewa says he is pleased with what he and the team accomplished this year.
"I think this Stanley team really proved themselves during the course of the year," Fedewa said. "There were doubters out there, but this team really worked hard and proved themselves.
"The win at New Hampshire showed just how much chemistry and ability this team had," he said. "I feel very fortunate to have worked with such a great group of guys and to have had such a strong leader in Billy Nacewicz. It's been a very special season."
