"Phoenix is unique and really doesn't resemble any of the other tracks we compete at. Phoenix provides plenty of room to pass. During last year's race, we were able to do a lot of passing, but we were also passed quite a bit ourselves. --Buckshot Jones

The Buckshot Racing team posted their best back-to-back finishes of the season so far by finishing 11th at Memphis and 17th at Rockingham.

"It's better late than never," said Jones. "All of the changes we have made during the season are starting to payoff and Gary (Gary Cogswell- crew chief) and I are beginning to work well together. I still don't think we're finishing where we should, but we're making progress and that's positive."

Preparing For Atlanta...

Buckshot Racing will be testing next week at Atlanta Motor Speedway on November 8. The team will be practicing in preparation for the Winston Cup season finale on November 19. Buckshot Racing will attempt to field a Pontiac Grand Prix sponsored by Crown Fiber Communications in the race. Jones has competed in three prior Winston Cup races at AMS.

One-Mile Mastery...

One-mile tracks have been the sites for both of Jones' NASCAR Busch Series career wins. Jones captured his first win at The Milwaukee Mile in 1996 and his second at New Hampshire International Speedway in 1998.

November Birthdays...

Three Buckshot Racing team members will celebrate birthdays in November. Transporter driver Jerry Byerly will celebrate a birthday on November 10, Leo Hayes will celebrate his birthday on November 16 and rear tire changer Ernie Willimon celebrates his birthday on November 24.
