CART: Montoya, Vasser qualify fifth, sixth at Marlboro 500

- Juan Montoya qualified fifth today, followed closely by teammate Jimmy Vasser in sixth. Montoya's lap of 237.688 mph is the fastest ever run by a Toyota-powered race car.

- Montoya's only other non-front row starting spot on an oval this year came at Michigan, where he went on to win from the seventh starting spot.

- Montoya has qualified in the top-five 15 times this year and in the top-10 in 19 of 20 events - the highest total in the series this season.

- Jimmy Vasser's sixth in qualifying today marks his fourth consecutive top-six start after placing fifth at Australia, third at Houston and second at St. Louis.
