Racing historian and noted author, Gordon Eliot White will make two special appearances at the Washington, D.C. Motorsports Expo at the Capital Expo Center in Chantilly, VA, where he will sign copies of his newest book, "The Indianapolis Racing Cars of Frank Kurtis, 1941-1963".

The Kurtis book features a full illustrated account of the Indianapolis and Championship racing cars built by Frank Kurtis including those that never made it to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The book includes a table with all of the known chassis, their serial numbers, owners, drivers, Indianapolis records, paved and dirt track championship race history and known engine numbers.

Mr. White, Auto Racing Advisor at the Smithsonian, also penned the award winning "Offenhauser: The Legendary American Racing Engine and the Men Who Built It", now in its third printing.

Mr. White will appear at the Washington, D.C. Motorsports Expo on Friday, December 8, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 9, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. to sign copies of both books.

Holder of a US/FIA International 2,000 cc land speed record, Mr. White enjoys discussing his speed record and vintage racing activities, turning book signings into spontaneous bench racing sessions.

The Washington, D.C. Motorsports Expo will feature three full days of motorsport related entertainment, December 8-10, with race machinery representing all facets of the sport, racing simulators, monster truck rides, driver appearances and more. The floor of the 107,000 square foot Capital Expo Center will be graced by racing cars from NASCAR Winston Cup, NASCAR Busch Grand National, Indy Racing Northern Light Series, CART FedEx Championship Series, the Sports Car Club of America and the FIA Formula One World Championship.

Drivers confirmed to appear at this year's show include Sterling Marlin, Dave Blaney, Sarah Fisher, Mark Dismore, Robert Pressley, Randy Tolmas, and Jeff Altenburg. More driver appearances to be announced soon.
