Road Racing (CORR) event in rainy Topeka, Kan., Sunday.Kincaid, of Crandon, Wis., won the first of two races today in his Toyota Tacoma to clinch the 2000 Pro-Lite (small-truck) class championship. The win, his 12th of the year, also set a new single-season record for victories.
"It's been a really great year, thanks to my team and family," Kincaid said. "The track was really muddy, but I told myself to just take the Tacoma around easy and we'd have the championship."
Millen, of Newport Beach, Calif., parlayed an amazing start from sixth place to a first-turn lead and won the final Pro-4 class (full-size, four-wheel drive) race of the year in his Toyota Tundra. The victory, his sixth of the year, clinched second place overall in the class.
"We're disappointed not to win the Pro-4 championship, because we really felt it was an achievable goal," Millen said. "But overall, it's been a really successful year. The team did a fantastic job throughout the year, and Jack Ault and Bill Smith always gave me a great Tundra to race."
Greaves, of DePere, Wis., earned his first career Pro-2 class win (full-size, two-wheel drive) in his Toyota Tundra. A two-time Pro-Lite class champion in 1998-99, Greaves win is the 22nd of his CORR career, a series record. He previously owned the record for most wins in a season (11) until his Potawatomi teammate Kincaid won his 12th today.
"This was one of the greatest won of my career," said an excited Greaves in the winner's circle. "I have to thank my family and the people from Potawatomi and Toyota for believing in me."
The four final races of the 18-race CORR season from Topeka will be broadcast on ESPN2 in November - Round 15 on Nov. 7, Round 16 on Nov. 20, Round 17 on Nov. 21 and Round 18 on Nov. 27.
