ROCKINGHAM, N.C.- After making several laps in this
morning's
NASCAR Busch Series practice, Tim Fedewa decided against driving the No.
36
Stanley car in Saturday's Sam's Club 200.Veteran Winston Cup driver Geoffrey Bodine will qualify the car today and will fill-in for Fedewa on Saturday.
Fedewa was injured on Wednesday when he was involved in a motorcycle accident. He cracked three vertebrate in his back, and he was not expected to get in the car all weekend.
However, when the doctor released Fedewa to race this weekend, the eight-year veteran said he had to give it a shot.
"It doesn't feel that bad, but I hit that one spot on the track, and it jars my back," Fedewa said. "I don't want to mess up my back anymore. And I don't want to mess up the guys because they have worked so hard to give us a good car here this weekend.
"I had to give it a try on the track though."
Fedewa, who is currently 16th in points, will start Saturday's race, but Bodine will replace him.
