"We've had some decent qualifying runs at Rockingham, however the
finishes
just haven't been there. If we can manage the tire wear and get the car
to
handle on longer runs, I think we'll have a strong

Buckshot earned his first ever career NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division pole position at North Carolina Speedway in October 1996 after just his 27th career Busch Series start. To date, Jones has captured the top qualifying position two other times (Indianapolis Raceway Park '98, Michigan '00) during his Busch Series career.
Despite starting from within the top 10 three times at Rockingham, Jones has never been credited with leading a lap in either the spring or fall race.
The Right Stuff...
Buckshot Racing crew chief Gary Cogswell knows what it takes to win at Rockingham. Cogswell was the crew chief for driver Chad Little when the two teamed up to win the Goodwrench 200 during the spring event in 1995.
Seat Time...
In preparation for the 2001 Winston Cup season, Buckshot and Petty Enterprises, along with several other teams competing with the new Dodge Intrepid next year, will be testing at Talladega Superspeedway this week before making the trip to Rockingham this weekend.
Open Season...
Deer season opened last week in Georgia and South Carolina. Buckshot spent a couple of days hunting last week in South Carolina and spent his off weekend hunting at his family's farm in Monticello, Ga. Rumor has it, Buckshot had a successful hunt in South Carolina...
