FORT WORTH, Texas-- Dreyer & Reinbold Racing announced Oct. 13 that it has renewed its sponsorship with Purex, the nation s leading value detergent, for the 2001 Indy Racing Northern Light Series season.
Purex became the primary sponsor of Dreyer & Reinbold shortly before the teams debut at the Delphi Indy 200 in January at Walt Disney World Speedway. Robbie Buhl, co-owner and driver, won that race.
"We are indeed delighted to make this announcement and feel truly honored that Purex has placed such great confidence in our team and our approach to running our business," said Dennis Reinbold, co-owner of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing with Buhl and Eric De Bord.
Purex has worked with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and series sponsor Northern Light in bringing aggressive retail and consumer promotions to Northern Light Series markets this year. Purex, the Indy Racing League and Northern Light announced in August the leagues first on-pack consumer promotion, which is expected to reach more than 70 million consumers.
"We have enjoyed incredible success from our merchandising activities with our retail partners in each of the league markets," said Todd Gatzulis, Purex senior brand manager. "We expect to increase our efforts in 2001 to reach even greater success. We are equally proud of our relationship with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and their aggressive, professional approach to racing and marketing."
Dreyer & Reinbold Racing has enjoyed a fine debut season. Buhl entered the season-ending Excite 500 this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway in seventh in the Northern Light Cup point standings in his G Force/Infiniti/Firestone. He has been in the top 10 in series points all season after his victory in the season opener.
"Our goals are simple - we want to win races, the 2001 championship and to assist our sponsor/partners with their goals of selling more product," Buhl said.
