Matt Kenseth will be driving the same DEWALT Ford Taurus that was wrecked during the Friday morning practice session at Daytona Speedway on June 30. The car qualified for the July 1 night race in 22nd spot, but Matt was forced to go to a back-up car for the race due to the severity of the practice crash and start the race at the rear of the field.

Kenseth grabbed a 9th place finish at Lowe's Motor Speedway after a long stretch of finishes outside the top ten. Matt's last top ten finish came at Michigan in August.

Matt Kenseth's Thoughts on Talladega

"It's a race I don't look forward to. It seems as though we haven't been fast in the past and have struggled with our qualifying effort. The race is frustrating to me because it's all about who has the fastest car and who will draft with you. The new rules should be interesting. I think it is going to bunch us up and you'll see a lot of three and four wide racing. It's a stressful race because you are expecting the big wreck at anytime and just hoping you are not involved in it."
