NHRA: Jeg and Troy Coughlin are looking to improve on Saturday

During the first of the four scheduled qualifying sessions Troy Coughlin and his Jeg's Mail Order Oldsmobile Cutlass lined up in the left lane. Troy blasted off of the starting line like a rocket. He ran a 6.868 at 200.08 mph and took the No. 2 spot.

"That's a great way to start our weekend," stated Troy. "We have one of the best baseline setups to tune from that we have had all season!"

Jeg was in the last pair of cars in the first session. He took on the right lane. Jeg launched from the starting line beams and made a quick move to the left. He quickly returned the yellow and black Olds Cutlass to the middle of the groove. Jeg ran a 6.899 at 199.05 mph and landed in the No. 9 position.

"We have some room for improvement," said Jeg. "The best thing is that our team gained data on both lanes after one qualifying session."

In the second session Jeg Coughlin, Jr was the first of the two Jeg's machine to pull into the waterbox. Jeg darted off of the line in the left lane. He improved and ran a 6.845 at 199.67 mph and took over the No. 4 spot.

"We made a much better run during the second session," said Jeg. "I think we are on track to improve tomorrow."

Troy left the starting line beams and everything looked great. The car hooked up with the middle of the groove as he headed toward the finish line. Down track Troy's car started to feel odd to him. He did not improve and slipped to the No. 6 position.

"The car was not working the way that it should have down track. It felt like a rear end and there was a lot of weird noises," explained Troy. "We will get everything figured out and be ready to improve on Saturday."
