NASCAR WCUP: Super 8 Motels, Inc. joins PPI Motorsports as associate sponsor

HICKORY, N.C. -- PPI Motorsports (PPIM) announced today it has entered into a multi-year associate sponsorship agreement with Parsippany, N.J.-based Super 8 Motels, Inc., in support of PPIM's McDonald's Racing program. The sponsorship begins this weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway, where Super 8 logos will appear on the No. 96 Ronald McDonald Ford driven by Andy Houston in the UAW-GM Quality 500 NASCAR Winston Cup race.

Super 8 Motels, Inc., will support Houston's four remaining Winston Cup events with PPIM this season -- Charlotte, N.C. (Oct. 8), Rockingham, N.C. (Oct. 22), Phoenix, Ariz. (Nov.5), and Homestead, Fla. (Nov. 12) -- leading up to full-time involvement with PPIM's No. 96 car in 2001.

"Super 8 is a terrific addition to our McDonald's Winston Cup program," said PPIM owner and president Cal Wells III. "Through joint marketing opportunities with McDonald's and our other partners, we provide a unique platform through which Super 8 Motels can meet newer, more business-to-business oriented goals. The increased exposure provided by the NASCAR Winston Cup Series next season, in addition to the attention Andy will garner as he shoots for the Rookie of the Year title, makes this partnership even more exciting. We're very pleased to have Super 8 on board."
