SUSSEX, Wis.- Randy Herzog, co-owner of Herzog Motorsports, has announced Indy Racing Northern Lights Series (IRNLS) driver Mark A. Dismore will compete in the upcoming ASA ACDelco Series event at the Indianapolis Raceway Park on September 23 as a third driver for Wisconsin-based Herzog Motorsports. Dismore's 20-year-old son, Mark E., currently competes in the series as a rookie competitor, driving the No. 44 Monster.com/WorldBestBuy.com Chevrolet also fielded by Herzog Motorsports.

"I'm really looking forward to the race," said the elder Dismore, 43, who is excited to be competing in the ASA ACDelco Series for the first time, and especially against his son. "I've never raced an ASA car before and I think the toughest part of the weekend will be making the race. This series is really tough. It's probably unrealistic to think I can win the race, but you have to go in with the mindset that you're going to win."

The two Dismores will be competing against each other for the first time, when they battle head to head at the .686-mile oval in Clermont (Ind.) for the ASA 200. "I hope he finishes right behind me," Mark A. Dismore said, referring to "Little Mark." "With the experience he's gained from being in the series all year, he should fair better than me, but I look forward to giving him a good run."

The Herzog Motorsports team, consisting of the two Dismores and 1999 Pat Schauer Memorial Rookie of the Year Ricky Johnson, recently tested at IRP, in preparation for the event. "It's going to be fun to work with Little Mark, Howie Lettow and Ricky," the senior Dismore commented. "It would be nice to see one of us get the win. It would be pretty exciting if I could do it, but I would settle for any of us."

Dismore, a Greenfield (Ind.) resident, will drive the No. 43 Herzog Motorsports-prepared Chevrolet Monte Carlo sponsored by Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems, an associate sponsor on his IRNLS car. Dismore currently sits fourth in the Indy Racing Northern Light Series' point standings, with one race remaining on their schedule.

"When Mark approached us about the possibility of running him in an ASA event, we welcomed the opportunity," said Randy Herzog. "We are delighted to have Mark and Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems come on board for Indianapolis and I'm sure it will be a great race. It's going to be a treat for everyone to see the Dismores battle each other in their hometown."
