One Mile Man...During his eight year career in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division, Tim Fedewa has become known as a force to contend with on the one-mile tracks. Three of his four victories (two at Nazareth Speedway and one at New Hampshire International Speedway) have come on the one-mile, flat tracks along the circuit.

Dover Downs, however, hasn't been as kind as some of the other one-mile ovals.

"I hope that some of my luck on the one-mile tracks will rub off on Dover Downs this weekend," Fedewa said. "But there's a reason they call this track the 'Monster Mile.' This is a fast and very tricky track because of the way the corners are banked. It's key to find the right groove to get around the corners. It's a touchy ride, but I've always liked coming here."

Living A Dream... Every Busch Series driver looks forward to his opportunity to drive in the Winston Cup Series, Fedewa says. Fedewa got his first chance behind the wheel of a Winston Cup car at Dover Downs in the fall of 1995.

Fedewa finished the fall event in 23rd after starting in 38th position.

"That was a dream come true," Fedewa said about driving his first Cup car five years ago. "Driving in a Winston Cup race is something that all of us in the Busch series want to do whether we admit it or not. I'm grateful that I got my first chance in Dover and that I've had other chances over the years."

FORE!... Fedewa will be one of several NASCAR celebrities to participate in the 2nd Annual Jeff Gordon-DuPont Motorsports Golf Classic. The tournament will be at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, Del., on Thursday, Sept. 21.

The Stanley Racing Machine... "Old Slider," the car that made the trip to Dover this spring, was retired by the Stanley team after the fall race in Bristol. This time around, the Stanley team will compete with the car that Fedewa finished 11th with in Darlington this spring.
