Their Return to Dover... Crew Chief Chris Carrier has had
his work cut out
for him this year. The MBNA.com 200 will be the first repeat track of the
season for the Albertson's Racing team."I know that the entire team is looking forward to this race," said Carrier. "We came out here in June and finished in a solid 14th position with Mike Skinner behind the wheel and I truly believe we can improve on that finish. One of the difficult things about running a limited schedule is that you don't often have that luxury of running at the same tracks twice. Our next two races are both tracks that we have competed at this year with Skinner in the car so we should really see an improvement in this team in Dover and then during the October race in Charlotte."
"Skinner has given this team quite a bit of confidence. Since he has taken over the driving duties of the No. 15 Albertson's Chevrolet our average finish went from 35th to 12th place. When you start cracking the top 15 and even the top ten as we did in California, not only do you see progress on the track, but you will notice it in the garage area and even in the pits."
Albertson's/ACME Markets Repay Loyal Shoppers with Give-A-Way... The Northeast branch of Albertson's Inc., ACME Markets, is the Official Grocery Store of Dover Downs International Speedway.
In conjunction with the speedway, Chevrolet and Pepsi, ACME markets will be giving away numerous tickets for the three-day event at the speedway. During the pre-race show on Friday for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race, one lucky give-a-way finalist will leave the race the proud owner of a new 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Extended Cab truck with a retail value of $38,000. ACME shoppers were able to enter the sweepstakes at participating ACME stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
These sweepstakes are not unusual for Albertson's. So far this year they have given away more than 1000 NASCAR tickets at various tracks, an official pace car at California Speedway, the opportunity for one shopper to drop the green flag at the start of the Albertson's 300 at Texas Motor Speedway and now a new 2000 Silverado.
