USAC/F2000: Justus eyes USAC 'Oval Crown' title Saturday at IRP

Aaron Justus of Crestline, Calif. hopes to claim the first of two
USAC
driving championships this Saturday when the United States Formula 2000
National Championship Presented by Speedvision stops at Indianapolis
Raceway
Park for round 11 of the 13-round series.The IRP 50-lapper serves as the final round of the USAC "Oval Crown" portion of the 2000 calendar and Justus is poised to win that title, leading runners-up Tony Buffomante and Marc-Antoine Camirand by 20 points with just 32 available. Justus will drive the Forsythe-InDeck/Torco Van Diemen Quicksilver which has carried him to four victories this season, including the May 27 outing at IRP.
Justus also leads Ian Lacy by 33 points in the battle for the USF2000 National Championship, which concludes with road course events September 29 and 30 at Road Atlanta in Georgia.
The IRP timetable calls for Formula 2000 testing from 8 am -noon, practice from 1-2 pm and qualifying from 2:45-3:30 pm. The 50-lap championship race is scheduled for a 10 pm start.
