Joe Amato earned his record 52d NHRA Top Fuel triumph Sunday in the Keystone Nationals, winning at his "home" track in Reading, Pa., for the second consecutive year. Matt Hines rode his Eagle One Suzuki to victory in the Pro Stock Motorcycle event. Amato, the five-time Winston Top Fuel champion, responds to speculation about his plans for 2001.

"No matter what you might have heard, I'll be back in 2001, going for a sixth championship," said Amato. "Valvoline and DynoMax are planning to be back with our team as associate sponsors, but we're still looking for the right opportunity with a primary sponsor. I really believe next year is going to be a great time to be involved because of all the attention placed on NHRA's 50th anniversary plus the start of our new TV relationship with ESPN (all races on ESPN/ESPN2). Everytime I talk with people who are involved in other series, I realize NHRA teams provide a good value to companies with the audience we reach, compared with the cost of sponsorship elsewhere."
