Tim Fedewa, No. 36 Stanley Chevrolet Monte Carlo (involved in a crash with
No.27 and No. 82 cars): "We just got out of sequence there. We knew we
had
to save our tires and we were just biding our time, waiting for a caution
and
guess what? We were the caution. People driving with their head where
they
don't belong, it just gets old. You hate to whine about it, but stupidity
is
pretty prevalent it seems, in this series."
Hank Parker Jr., No. 53 Team Marines Chevrolet Monte Carlo (involved in a crash with No. 33 car): "Well I guess Tony Raines must have had a little beef with us and he took it out on us on the racetrack. I hate it for the whole Team Marines guys. We were working hard. Probably the best we've run here. We started off a little loose but made an adjustment. And we were coming back through there pretty good. I hate that everybody can't be as professional as the Team Marines car can be."
Phil Parsons, No. 59 Kingsford Chevrolet Monte Carlo (behind the wall after crash): "I'd been a little bit loose up off the corner the whole night. The Kingsford guys were working on it and we were making it better and better. I've been that loose before, but the thing just didn't come back. I just couldn't catch it. Around I went and I hit the wall pretty hard. I hate it for all our sponsors and all our crew, but I just screwed-up. It was a hard lick. The damage is pretty significant. It busted the radiator. It busted the oil filter and stuff like that. I don't think we'll be able to get back out."
Mark McFarland, No. 96 Popeyes Chevrolet Monte Carlo (involved in crash with No. 3 car): "We just got tangled up with Ron Hornaday. We just heard from him that something broke on his car. So it wasn't his fault. We were just racing him for position. It was just one of those things."
Jeff Green, No. 10 NesQuik Chevrolet Monte Carlo (finished 2nd): "This NesQuik Chevy was awesome tonight. I think we was as good as Jeff (Burton), but passing him was two different things. Lapped traffic kind of held me up. But man, what an awesome night. Performance Racing gives us some great brakes and I was able to drive under those guys getting into the corners, and just everything. It's just an awesome season and I'm proud of it. I never asked him (crew chief, Harold Holly) what he did to it (the car, during pit stops). We just tickled on it a little bit. It was pretty close. We guessed a little bit this afternoon. You gotta guess when you race six hours after you practice. It was a good night for us and we gained points again, but we want to be over in Victory Lane. We're just trying to win the race each and every time. Jeff Burton did an awesome job, and he had a good car too. He was just a touch better than us. But we were so close."
Todd Bodine, No. 66 Phillips 66 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (finished 4th): "We didn't know in practice if we got the car free enough and we didn't know for sure if was going to be all right and it wasn't. It was pretty tight. But we kept working on it both stops. The last stop was definitely the best. It was still a little too tight in the middle and then it got a little loose off at the end. Mark (Martin) got under me, or outside of me. But this Phillips 66 Monte Carlo was good. We can't complain. We'd like to win from the pole, but fourth, hey, it's still a good run. It wasn't great by any means, but it was good enough to get fourth. We're getting some momentum going again, and we'll take it to the next race."
Kevin Grubb, No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet Monte Carlo (finished 5th): "We were there running in third many times and were right there in contention. It's just the way the pit stops came out there in the end. A lot of guys pitted before we did. And then we came in the next stop and they still had fresh tires so we had to pass all those the good cars that put tires on. But it was good. It was fun to come back short track racing and have a good car for one thing. The Timber Wolf team really deserves it. They worked hard. They all put their heads together and get it down. This is were we lost our luck in the Spring. From this race on, we've wrecked. We've had back luck up until now. So hopefully we can have a good rest of the season. It took a while to get here. We've had several cars that was good, (but) they just didn't come back with us. They was either tore up or blown tires or whatever. So finally we've had good results."
