"I don't know what it is, but when the lights go on at Bristol you're bound to see plenty of fireworks. If you can bring back a car from Bristol with all four corners still on it, you've accomplished something major."-Buckshot Jones

A Long Time Coming

* Last week's Bud Pole Award marked the third career pole for Jones and the Buckshot Racing team. Prior to setting the track record last weekend at Michigan, Jones' last pole came at IRP in July 1998. Jones captured his only other career pole at Rockingham in October 1996.

Back In March

* For the Buckshot Racing team, Bristol Motor Speedway lived up to its reputation of providing plenty of action. Before the first lap was even completed Buckshot was involved in an accident with several other cars. Suffering only minor damage, the team repaired the car and sent Buckshot on his way. Just 20 laps later, Jones was involved in another accident, this time suffering major front-end damage. The car was repaired and returned to the race looking more like a modified car than a stock car. The day ended with Buckshot finishing 34th.

Two Of A Kind

* For the second consecutive year, the Buckshot Racing shop will serve as the starting point for a motorcycle 'Poker Run' on Saturday morning August 26. Participants will ride their motorcycles to various checkpoints in Greenville and Spartanburg, S.C., where they will be issued one playing card at each checkpoint. At the end of the ride, the participant holding the best poker hand wins. All proceeds raised from the event will benefit the Whitten Center. Located in Spartanburg, S.C. the Whitten Center is a facility that provides care for the elderly and disabled.

Happy Birthday

* Veteran front tire-changer Billy Wilson will celebrate a birthday on Sunday, August 27. Billy is in the middle of his second season as a member of the Buckshot Racing team.
