Reversal of Fortune...The trip to Bristol Motor Speedway will
always
be one of Tim Fedewa's favorite stops in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand
National Division. He loves the fast, short track. He loves the race
style.
He loves the fans. But he doesn't always love his luck there.
This time around, Fedewa and the Stanley team are hoping for a little more luck. Fedewa wrecked in the first practice at Bristol in the spring. He finished the race in 28th place.
"We just couldn't get a break here in the spring, but we're coming back to Bristol a stronger team," Fedewa said. "This team has worked really hard to achieve the consistency that you need in this series. With this team and a strong car, I'm looking to come out of Bristol with a top 10 this time around."
The Stanley Racing Machine ... The car unloaded by the Stanley team this weekend is "Slider," the team's concrete car, said crew chief Billy Nacewicz.
Slider has had a rough life this year, and Nacewicz expects the tides to change at Bristol. It's the same car that was involved in several incidents at Bristol in the spring. The Stanley team rebuilt the car after that race and finished 19th with it at Dover in June. The Stanley team is looking for a top 10 this time around with Slider.
"Tim's a good and experienced short track racer," Nacewicz said. "Bristol may have got the best of him and this Stanley team in the spring, but I don't think this team will let that happen twice in a row."
