SPARTA, Ky. - Event happenings leading up to and
during The Belterra Resort Indy 300 on Aug. 25-27 at Kentucky Speedway:SCHEDULE:
The Belterra Resort Indy 300 starts at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) Aug. 27. MBNA Pole Qualifying starts at 12:15 p.m. Aug. 26.
Practice sessions start at 11:15 and 2:45 p.m. on Aug. 25, 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 and 10 a.m. Aug. 27.
ON THE AIR:
The Belterra Resort Indy 300 will be televised live on ESPN at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) Aug. 27. "Indy Racing 2Day" will be televised live at 11 a.m. Aug. 27 on ESPN2.
ESPN2 will televise MBNA Pole qualifying at 5 p.m. (EDT) Aug. 26.
The Indy Racing Radio Network will broadcast a 30-minute prerace show at 2 p.m. (EDT) Aug. 27, followed by the live race broadcast at 2:30 p.m. IRRN will broadcast qualifying live at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) Aug. 26.
The area IRRN affiliate is WIKT-FM 95.3, Carrollton, Ky. The IRRN race broadcast also will be available live on the Internet at www.indyracing.com as part of a partnership between Indy Racing Online and Yahoo!/broadcast.com, the worlds leading Web broadcast site.

MAKING HER PITCH:
Indy Racing Northern Light Series rookie Sarah Fisher will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Tuesday night, Aug. 22 at Cinergy Field before the Philadelphia Philies take on the Cincinnati Reds. Fisher, who grew up in Ohio, this year became only the third woman to ever qualify for the Indianapolis 500, joining Janet Guthrie and Lyn St. James.
MORE BASEBALL:
Pete Rose, Major League Baseballs all-time hit leader, is the grand marshal of The Belterra Resort Indy 300.
Rose, who won World Series rings with the Cincinnati Reds in 1975 and 1976, will sign autographs from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 at the "Brunch with the IRL" at the track. He will also participate in other pre-race activities.
BIG DAY IN DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI:
Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr. and defending Indy Racing Northern Light Series champion Greg Ray will sign autographs from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23 at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati. The Pennzoil Panther show car and series sponsor Northern Lights show car will also be on display. In addition, the American Red Cross "Its Whats On Top" interactive helmet safety display will be at Fountain Square..
