"I'm looking forward to getting back to Michigan. I was really happy with our testing there in July. Between the on track testing and what we learned in the wind tunnel, I think we should be pretty good."--Buckshot Jones, driver of the No. 00 Cheez-It Chevrolet

Tunnel Vision

* Buckshot Racing took one of the two cars used in the test session at Michigan in July to the wind tunnel early last week. The team is trying to learn more about the Monte Carlo and fine tune the car being brought to Michigan this weekend. Michigan will mark just the second time Buckshot Jones has competed with a Chevrolet Monte Carlo on a two-mile track in the Busch Series.. The team made the switch from Pontiac to Chevrolet back in April at California.

Going The Distance

* This year's NAPAonline.com 250 at Michigan will mark the first time the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division has run 125 laps / 250 miles at Michigan Speedway. In the past, teams have only run 100-lap races.

"I think the additional 50 miles will really change how the race is run," Jones said. "Typically fuel mileage plays a factor at Michigan, but with 50 extra miles I don't think you will see teams gambling too much on gas. The longer race will also allow teams who messed up in qualifying and have a good race car to bring the car to the front."

A Little Bit Of R & R

* During the off week Buckshot, family and friends soaked up the rays in Mexico as they vacationed in Cancun for several days.

Honorary Pit Crew Members

* Buckshot Racing is pleased to be having the assistance of Doug McCready and Jim Rines in the pits for the NAPAonline.com 250. Both gentlemen have been selected as honorary pit crew members for the race.
