MOUNT LAWN SPEEDWAY HOSTS WEDNESDAY NIGHT PROGRAM
A tight log jam at the top of the series point standings has resulted from Norm Young's 50-lap USAC Regional Midget Car Series feature victory at the Indianapolis Speedrome, but ironically Young is not among the leaders.
Young led the final 17 laps in his Matlock Ford-Mercury/IFI Floors/Kelly Custom Home Designs/Dave's Guns & Tubs VW to beat Daryl Campbell, Rick Treadway, David Fuhrman and Pete Bitting to the checkered flag. Campbell's finish left him seven points ahead of Brad Kuhn, Wednesday's sixth-place finisher, going into this Wednesday night's program at the Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. A 40-lap feature is on tap at the 3/10-mile paved oval.
Fuhrman and Treadway are 19 and 45 points behind Campbell with 175 available at New Castle Wednesday.
Bitting led the first 19 laps of Wednesday's race, then Campbell led the next 24 laps before Young moved to the front. Preliminary heat races were won by Jason burgess and Young.
