Jeff Green On IRP: Jeff Green, current points leader and driver of the No. 10 Nestl NesQuik Chevrolet on the NASCAR Busch Series, has incredible statistics on short tracks, but he considers IRP one of the tougher short tracks on the circuit.

"Track position is the most important key to winning at IRP," said Green. "The track has only one groove and you run against the wall through the corners, so it is hard to pass. Starting up front is an advantage because the place is so tough to get around someone. You can have the fastest car on the track and still not win."

Last Year At IRP: Green posted his first top-five finish at IRP in last year's Kroger 200, but was unable to catch his teammate, Jason Keller, for the win.

"We ran in the top-five all night, but were unable to get to the front," said crew chief Harold Holly. "At the end of the race, Jeff was posting lap times two tenths faster than Jason, but since Jeff was caught in lap traffic and Jason was running in clean air, Jeff was never able to get to him. Obviously, those two cars were the class of the field that night, but I just wish it could've been a one-two finish, rather than a one-three finish. We haven't been able to get both cars across the finish line first and second and that is one of our goals at ppc Racing."

Equipment: The NesQuik Racing team is taking the same car to IRP that won earlier this year at South Boston, Myrtle Beach and Milwaukee.

Single Day Shows: Friday's Kroger 200 event at Indianapolis Raceway Park is the third one-day show for the NBS circuit this season. Qualifying sessions and races at Myrtle Beach, S.C. (06/17/00) and South Boston, Va. (06/10/00) also took place on a single day and Green captured the checkered flag at both events.

Jeff Green Short Track Statistics:

* Of the five short track events held in 2000, Green has three poles (Bristol, Richmond and Myrtle Beach) and three wins (Richmond, South Boston and Myrtle Beach).

* Of Green's nine career NBS wins, six wins occurred on short tracks.

* Green has three wins from the pole on short tracks: Memphis (10/31/99); Richmond (05/05/00); and Myrtle Beach (06/17/00).
