The NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series rolls into Sears Point for the
Autolite
Nationals. This race marks the final stop on the important Western swing.
NHRA Pro Stock points leader Jeg Coughlin, Jr. knows that the season is far from over. Jeg has 1123 points and leads his closest competitor by 227 points, which is over eleven rounds.
"We just need to keep work together as a team and everything will fall into place," explained Jeg. "I want to finish the Western swing with a bang and I know that we are capable!"
Troy is currently sitting in the No. 5 position in the NHRA Winston points. He has 740 points and is a mere 38 points from taking over the No. 4 spot, which is held by Kurt Johnson.
"I have never qualified for the race in Sonoma and I am looking forward to ending that this coming weekend," said Troy. "We have learned a lot together as a team and we are as strong as we have ever been. I can't think of a better place to win my first professional NHRA national event then a track that I have never qualified at."
