RAIN FORCES MOUNT LAWN CANCELLATION
Rick Treadway's fourth Indianapolis Speedrome Regional Midget Car feature victory of the season Wednesday night tightened the point chase going into this Wednesday night's racing program at the 1/5-mile paved oval.
Treadway caught Jason Burgess on the 12th lap and led the rest of the 50-lap distance in his MCI WorldCom/Sunoco/Miller Lite/McClure Oil/Sanders Sports Marketing Gaerte. Daryl Campbell took second place ahead of David Fuhrman, Brad Kuhn and Burgess, who led the first 11 laps.
Preliminary heat races were won by Campbell and Andy Anderson.
Kuhn's fourth-place feature finish Wednesday left him 13 points ahead of Campbell in the new series standings, with Fuhrman only 22 points from the lead and Treadway only 31 points behind Fuhrman. A total of 175 points are available this Wednesday.
Saturday night's scheduled Speedrome Regional Midget Car race at the Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind. was cancelled due to rain.
