50th NASCAR Busch Series Event For The Green Brothers: Although there are several trios of brothers that compete in NASCAR Racing, such as the Wallaces and the Bodines, there is only one set that holds the record for most brothers in a single NASCAR Busch Series race, the Green brothers. David, Mark and Jeff Green have all competed in the Busch Series for several years, but 2000 is the first year that all three brothers have competed full-time on the circuit. When the green flag drops for the CarQuest Auto Parts 250 at Gateway International Raceway on July 29, 2000, it will be the 50th time the three brothers have competed against each other.

"This year has been very special for me in many ways," said Jeff Green. "Not only has this been a dream season for me performance wise, but being able to reach a milestone with my brothers is pretty incredible. For several years, the three of us have been involved in NASCAR, but we never have all been in the same garage every week, so it has taken us awhile to get 50 starts. I know our parents are real proud, but it does make it difficult on them when we race all on the same day. Our dad came to Nazareth two weeks ago and said it was hard to keep up with all of us and spend time in all of our pit areas. I guess it would be hard to be in three places at once."

Brothers Finishing First and Second in a Race: With their one - two finish at Pikes Peak International Raceway last weekend, Jeff and David Green became the second set of brothers to battle for the win. Jeff and Ward Burton finished first and second at Myrtle Beach in 1993.

Jeff Green On Gateway: Green knows it is tough to win at the 1.25-mile track because of the challenge its differently shaped corners presents.

"Gateway is a tricky place to try to figure out because the ends of the track are completely different," said Green. "One corner is big and sweeping with no banking and the other corner is tight with banking, so you are tight on one end and loose on the other. That means it is really hard to get the setup right for both ends. Typically, you will be good through one corner and no so good through the other."

Last Year At Gateway: Green posted a top-five finish on his first outing at Gateway in 1999.

"I was really happy about posting a top-five finish in last year's event," said Green. "We led a few laps during the event, but we missed the setup a little at the beginning. It took us the whole race to figure out the setup needed to get around the track, but once we did, we were real fast, but had nothing for Dale Earnhardt, Jr. at the end."

Night Racing: Racing under the lights has been very good to Green for the 2000 NBS season. There have been only two races scheduled to run under the lights this year, Richmond and Myrtle Beach, and Green and his NesQuik Racing team sat on the pole and won both events.

Equipment: The NesQuik Racing team is taking the same car to Gateway that Green won with earlier this year at South Boston, Myrtle Beach and Milwaukee.
