When the NHRA rolls into Seattle it will mark the second stop on the important three race "West Coast" swing (Denver, Seattle & Sonoma). In previous years these three races have proved to either make you or break you. Team JEG'S knows just how important that these three races are in their chase to finish No. 1 and No. 2 in this years NHRA Winston Championship.
Jeg Coughlin, Jr. is leading the Pro Stock field with 1027 points and is ahead of his closest competitor by 189 points. The nine round lead that Jeg has is an indication of the teams strength and commitment to winning.
"I don't spend anytime thinking about the lead that we have," said Jeg. "Our goal as a team is to finish No. 1 and No. 2 in the points. We have proven that our team can make the right decisions and put a JEG'S Mail Order car in a position to win."
Troy Coughlin is resting in the No. 5 position with 667 points in the NHRA Winston Championship. He is 34 points behind Kurt Johnson in a battle for the No. 4 spot and knows that a strong showing at the next two races can move him into the No. 3 position.
"The West Coast swing can be your best friend or your worst enemy," stated Troy. "Our team is much stronger and more consistent then we have been in years past at this point in the season. I know that our program has what it takes to visit the winner's circle at the next two races."
