USAC: Zurcher takes Russell Pro 'Triple Crown' round 2 and point lead

Camilo Zurcher of Bogota, Columbia has assumed the lead in the Russell Pro "Triple Crown" Championship, presented by Yokohama, following his victory in Sunday's 18-lap contest at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.
Zurcher, who won the pole starting spot with his lap of 1:38.929 on Saturday, claimed the $4,000 first place prize plus an additional $300 for the "Pole to Checker" award. He was second in the series opener June 24 and now focuses on the series finale September 1-2 at Thunderhill Park in Willows, Calif.
Trailing Zurcher in Sunday's contest were Timothy Barber, Nathan Smith, Cory Turner and Chris Miller as Frank Dancs, who won the June 24 race, had to pit for a tire change on the 14th lap. Dancs had been running second and set the fastest lap of the race at 1:39.197.
The series championship includes $10,000 in cash prizes and a ride in a USF2000 car at the Petite LeMans event at Road Atlanta.
