SONOMA, Calif.--Peter Cunningham, of W. Bend, Wis., and Taz Harvey, of Danville, Calif., led the way in the Speedvision GT and Touring Car practice sessions in preparation for this weekend's Grand Prix of Sonoma races at Sears Point Raceway.

Driving the No. 42 RealTime Racing BMW M3, Cunningham, the Speedvision GT points leader, turned a fastest lap of 1:45.052 (86.357 mph) in the second session of the day...just nipping Terry Borchellor's No. 54 Bell Motorsports/Drendel Racing Ferrari 355, who turned a lap of 1:45.087 (86.328 mph). Former Sears Point instructor Bill Cooper was third quick on the day in the No. 01 Les Stanford/Pirate Racing Chevrolet Corvette C5.

Harvey utilized his home-track advantage in the No. 8 Dublin Honda/Tracy Honda Acura Integra Type R to set the quickest time in the Speedvision Touring Car category with a lap of 1:50.852 (81.838 mph). Point leader Neal Sapp (No. 2 TCKlineRacing.com/Pro Parts BMW 328Ci) was second on the day and quickest in the afternoon with a lap of 1:50.890 (81.810 mph), but found the wall at the end of the session, meaning a long night for the crew before Saturday morning's qualifying session. Pierre Kleinubing was third quick in the No. 42 BuySellorHold.com/RealTime Racing Acura Integra Type R.
