GREEN TO MAKE HIS FIRST START AT PIKES PEAK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY: There arent many tracks on the NASCAR Busch Series schedule that David Green, driver of the No. 34 AFG Glass Chevrolet Monte Carlo, can say he has never raced but Pikes Peak International Raceway, host to Saturdays NAPA Auto Care 250, is one of those.

"Im looking forward to racing at Pikes Peak," said Green. "Its been a long time since I have raced somewhere that is totally new to me. Ive never even seen the race track or been to that part of the country. I hear the area is beautiful too."

The 1994 Busch Series Champion compares the track to Las Vegas Speedway and Richmond International Raceway, at least from what he can tell from television that is.

"I dont know too much about the track," said the Owensboro, Kentucky native. "Ive watched races on television from there and it looks like a small Las Vegas Speedway or a big Richmond. And to use a line from Days of Thunder, The coverage on ESPN is excellent, youd be surprised at how much you can pick up. "

Green will be driving the same AFG Glass car that brought him a pair of eighth place finishes at Nashville Speedway USA and New Hampshire International Speedway earlier in the season.

"Our season has been a tough one," says Green. "We have gone to some of the tracks that I have done well at in the past and have had some problems. Maybe a brand new track to me will bring us some good luck."

MEET DAVID GREEN IN ST. LOUIS: David Green will be meeting fans and signing autographs at Fanfest, at the Casino Queen and Crown Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday, July 27. The event is being held from 4-7 p.m. with an autograph session scheduled from 6-7 p.m.

DAVID GREEN RACES FOR AFGD'S HOMETOWN CROWD IN THE NAPA AUTO CARE 250: AFGD, a subsidiary of AFG Glass, joins Cicci-Welliver Racing and its parent company as the associate sponsor on the No. 34 AFG Glass Chevrolet Monte Carlo for Saturdays NAPA Auto Care 250 NASCAR Busch Series race at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia with a branch in Denver, Colorado, AFGD is part of the AFG Glass family and is an associate sponsor on the car for the entire 2000 season. This week, however, it will be the featured associate sponsor on the AFG Glass car.

With more than 52 locations in the United States and Canada, AFGD leads the glass industry in product distribution and fabrication.

The Denver branch supplies the construction industry with Tempered Safety Glass and Insulated Glass panels. The company provided the glass for the recently completed Opus Office Plaza in Denver. The office complex is located in the growing Highlands Ranch area and features one of AFG Glasss premier products, Comfort Ti Low Emissivity Glass.

Pikes Peak International Raceway will host many of the employees of AFGDs Denver branch on Saturday, all cheering on David Green and the entire AFG Glass team at their hometown track.
