"We had a really good test at Indy and were pleased with the results.
Three
other cars went faster than we did, but we still felt really good about
how
we performed. We took a different approach on Wednesday. The weather and
the
track changes so fast at Indy, Sammy didn't want to chase the stop watch
all
day Wednesday, so we spent the day working on race setup for the "M&M's"
Pontiac." --Ken SchraderKen Schrader's Stats...
* The "M&M's" Pontiac Ken Schrader will drive this weekend at Pocono has a good bit of track time thus far in the 2000 season. This particular "M&M's" Pontiac raced this season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as well as California Speedway. In both instances the "M&M's" Racing Team was enjoying a solid performance, including leading a handful of laps in California. A rain shortened event in Vegas and a caution that came eight laps too late in California kept the team from collecting top-10 finishes in both events. This car also tested at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier this year.
* The "M&M's" Racing Team tested at Indianapolis Motor Speedway July 11 and 12 as part of the General Motors test session. The team tested two "M&M's" Pontiacs and found the car that raced at Michigan in June was their best car. The team turned a lap that equaled the pole speed from 1999 and was fourth overall in the GM test. Following one day of fine tuning their qualifying trim, the "M&M's" Racing Team spent the second day working on their race setup.
* "M&M's" Racing Team driver Ken Schrader is notorious for his busy racing schedule. When there is an occasional break in the Winston Cup schedule, Schrader seems busier than ever. In the 11 days between the Winston Cup race at New Hampshire and qualifying at Pocono on Friday, Schrader spent eight days at race tracks across the Midwest.
After spending Tuesday and Wednesday testing the "M&M's" Pontiac at Indianapolis, Schrader tested his Busch car at St. Louis on Thursday; finished second at a race in Sedalia, Mo., on Friday and won the feature at his track in Pevely, Mo., on Saturday. Schrader then left for Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday to race Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
