Bryan Herta and the #55 Hollywood/Mo Nunn Racing Mercedes-Benz Reynard are on the outside-ninth-row starting position for Sundays Molson Indy Toronto. Herta toured the 1.721-mile temporary street course around Torontos Exhibition Place in 58.570 seconds (an average of 107.871 mph).

Helio Castroneves earned the pole position for Sundays race, which begins at 1 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on a two-hour tape-delayed basis by ESPN, beginning at 3 p.m. EDT.

BRYAN HERTA

"Well, that wasnt a perfect session for us by any means. I just couldnt seem to get a clear lap on my second set of tires. When I finally did, we had too many laps on that set. We seem to be struggling a bit on used tires so far this weekend. Thats something well take a look at tonight and hope to make it right for the race. We should be alright. At Cleveland (two weekends ago), essentially, we started 23rd (after actually qualifying eighth) after ending up at the back of the line because of that pileup on the first turn, and we ended up ninth. Its going to be a long race tomorrow, and there are usually a fair share of yellows. So if we have a good race car, which I think we do, and we get some good fortune with traffic and the yellows, we may just end up finishing up in the order. Well just have to wait and see."

TONY KANAAN UPDATE

Regular Hollywood/Mo Nunn Racing driver Tony Kanaan strapped himself into a race car today for the first time since sustaining a broken left forearm and four broken ribs on his left side in a qualifying session accident June 17 at Detroits Belle Isle. He drove 100 laps in a go-kart on an oval track in Indianapolis this morning under the observation of Dr. Terry Trammel of Methodist Hospital. He took a break to be examined by the doctor, watched the CART.COM live timing and scoring broadcast of todays qualifying session on his computer, then headed out to drive another 100 laps. Kanaan plans to continue driving the go-kart daily until arriving at Michigan Speedway for next weekends Michigan 500 where he scored his first career Champ Car victory last year. He is scheduled to undergo a test run in his #55 Hollywood/Mo Nunn Racing Mercedes on Thursday, after which he hopes to be cleared to race by CARTs Dr. Steve Olvey.
