CONCORD, N.C. -- Cicci-Welliver Racing announced today that they are in search of a new sponsor for the 2001 season in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division for the No. 36 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Tim Fedewa.

The announcement comes in response to the decision of long-time sponsor The Stanley Works to complete its successful 10-year run in racing to emphasize other brand-building programs aimed at positioning Stanley as the brand of choice for professional tool users and people who think like them.

"We have enjoyed a strong relationship with Stanley for nearly five years," said team owner Frank Cicci. "Now, we must focus our attention on finding another sponsor who will be just as supportive of racing and our team as Stanley has been."

The No. 36 Cicci-Welliver Racing entry with Fedewa at the wheel is currently in 16th place in the Busch Series championship points standings. The No. 36 team's biggest success this season came in May when Fedewa clenched a win from the pole at New Hampshire International Speedway. In addition, Fedewa has racked up two top-five and three top-10 finishes this season to date.

"Stanley has been a loyal supporter of the NASCAR Busch Series," said Gregor McCluskey, director of promotions for Stanley Racing. "We have enjoyed the support of our customers and employees and working with Team 36 and Cicci-Welliver Racing. We will consider ourselves fortunate if future brand partners are as professional and aggressive as Team 36 has been."

Stanley will fulfill its contract with Team 36 and Cicci-Welliver Racing through the 2000 season. At the end of the season, Stanley will still have a presence in racing through the Stanley Motorsports Department, which includes MAC and Husky brand tools, McCluskey said. The Motorsports department will focus on team and track sponsorships in NASCAR, NHRA, World of Outlaws and other racing entities.
