Tracks: Sprints, Modifieds, and Super Stocks Eagles Night at Bloomington Speedway

July 14 will be the last chance for the Pennzoil Cup Non Winged Sprint Cars to tune up for Indiana Sprint Week's visit to Bloomington Speedway. You can bet that they'll be here in force. When all of those who plan to run sprint week are added to the regular Pennzoil Cup competitors, you have the potential for an absolutely huge field of sprinters. You'll probably find a fair number of USAC sprints in the "B" main.
It seems likely that there might be some intrepid sprint car shoe in the first two rows willing to roll the dice and try for the $1500 bonus that awaits the driver who can go to the tail of the field and win. There should be a fair number of hot shoes here who aren't involved in the points race. One of them just might think that he has what it takes to come from the tail to win at Bloomington Speedway. He may also find out that it isn't quite as easy as he thoght it would be. Ed Evans Antique Auto and Race Car Museum is funding this award.
This will also be a good opportunity for the fans to begin their handicapping for Sprint Week.
The O'Neal Wood Product Open Wheel Modifieds and the Tire and Wheel Super Stocks will also be in competition. These classes generally turn out fifty or so cars each. You won't get more quality racing for your money anywhere.
The Eagles will be flocking in to Bloomington Speedway as well. Fraternal Order of Eagles members from the Bedford Aerie, the Bloomington Aerie, and the Ellettsville Aerie will be admitted at half price by simply showing their current membership card. This may be the first trip to Bloomington Speedway for many of them; but it certainly won't be their last.
July 14 will be date night for Teletron employees. All they need to do is show their Teletron I. D. card at the grandstand gate; and their guest will be admitted free. A race program at Bloomington Speedway is probably the best entertainment buy in Bloomington anyway. Where else can you take a date for $10.
Grandstand admission for this event is only $10 and pit admission is $20. Pit gates open at 4:30, grandstands open at 5:30. Hot laps are at 6:30; and racing starts at 7:30. Overnight camping is permitted.
