NASCAR Trucks: Mike Wallace gets bit at Milwaukee, Moves on to New Hampshire

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,- The Milwaukee (Wis.) Mile bit Mike Wallace pretty hard this weekend in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Sears DieHard 250. The Team ASE driver's continuing championship bid was hindered by a late race altercation with Andy Houston, which saw his afternoon shortened on lap 180 of the 200-lap event.

"It was unfortunate the race ended the way it did," Wallace said. "We had a real good truck and even though we were a lap down when the accident happened, we would have had a better finish then what we wound up with.

"This is a real tough series and sometimes the competition is heated. We all want to win and sometimes we get a little ahead of ourselves. But that was last week and now we focus on what's next, Loudon."

Mike Wallace knows how to get around the New Hampshire International Speedway and would like nothing else then to give Ford it's first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win at the 1.058-mile track.

"This is the fifth time the trucks have been to New Hampshire and it's hard to believe a Ford hasn't won," Wallace said. "We like to be first -- first to win Daytona, first every week -- and we'd like to be the first Ford to win this weekend."

Last year, the Truck Series driver finished second, just behind Dennis Setzer. The year before, Wallace captured the pole for the 200-lap event. Now, he wants to use that experience to gain some ground on the competition.

"We are really due for a win," Wallace said. "We've been dealt some rough hands lately and it's been tough on the whole team. The guys work real hard each week and we just want to start winning again."

Wallace remains in third place in the point standings, still chasing Greg Biffle and Jack Sprague, who are first and second respectively in the Truck series point standings.
