NASCAR WCUP: Ward Burton hopes for more consistency at New Hampshire

"New Hampshire hasn't been one of our better tracks. We have
struggled there
in the past, but I think we improved some last year. We finally had a
top-10
finish in the fall race. With the way things have been going this year,
we
should run pretty good there. We have improved at the tracks where we
struggled in the past and seemed to have struggled at the tracks where we
typically run well."
- Ward Burton, driver of the Caterpillar
Racing Pontiac
BURTON ON DAYTONA
"We were tight for most of the night. Tommy and all of the guys worked real hard to make important changes to the car. I've never seen Daytona like that before. It was really hard to pass there. Track position meant everything. We put on two tires during one pit stop and it got us out into the lead, but eventually got shuffled out of the draft. We fell in line about fifth and ran around there all night long. I'm pleased to have three restrictor-plate races under our belts and have three top-10 finishes at all three of them."
BALDWIN ON NEW HAMPSHIRE
"I am really anxious to get back to New Hampshire. We made some major gains at Loudon last year. We hadn't finished better than 23rd until last year. We tan real well at the spring race and settled for a 15th place finish. Then last fall we finished eighth. I am pleased with our progress, but we need to get a little better to contend for that win. We're going to run the same car we raced at Martinsville (11th) and Richmond (sixth).
BALDWIN AND CHRISTIANSEN RETURN TO OLD STOMPING GROUND
Tommy Baldwin, crew chief, and Tracey Christiansen, tire specialist, have both seen victory lane at New Hampshire International Speedway. Together, Baldwin and Christiansen have scored five victories in the NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series at NHIS. They led NASCAR Winston Cup driver Steve park to three victories and Jeff Fuller to two. Both return to NHIS in hopes of recapturing that winning style.
