NASCAR BGN: Business as usual for Casey Atwood at Milwaukee

defending champion of the Sears Diehard 250. The win, his career first in
the NASCAR Busch Series, marked him as the youngest winner in series
history.
* Casey Atwood is currently eighth in the series point standings, 127 points behind seventh position.
BUSINESS AS USUAL FOR CASEY ATWOOD IN MILWAUKEE: For Casey Atwood, defending champion of the Sears Diehard 250 NASCAR Busch Series event, returning to the Milwaukee Mile is business as usual.
"I approach every race the same and this one is no different," said Atwood, driver of the No. 27 Castrol GTX Chevrolet Monte Carlo. "My outlook is to do the best I can and win every race."
The only differences from last year for the 19-year-old driver are his excitement level and the car he will pilot.
"I remember in '99 I wasn't very excited about going to Milwaukee because I didn't run very good in '98," said Atwood. "This year, everyone on the team wants to go more since we won there last year. The only down side is that the car we ran last year, Mad Dog, was wrecked in Homestead, so it will be a different car. Hopefully, it will be the same."
The Castrol GTX team replaced Mad Dog with Mad Dog 2 during the off-season and built it based upon the specifications of the original. "When the team built this new car, they used the measurements from the other car to go off of," said Atwood. "We raced Mad Dog 2 twice this season and have two top 10 starts and finished eighth and eleventh. It's already shown to be a pretty good car."
Atwood doesn't feel his victory last season gives the Castrol GTX team an advantage but is confident a repeat is possible.
"We don't have an advantage," added Atwood. "You have to have a great car to win there. We did last year, but that doesn't mean it will be this year. It improves our chances a little bit, but I don't think we have an advantage."
