HUNTERSVILLE, N.C.-- Roush Racing and Chad Little
announced today that they have mutually agreed not to extend their
contract after the conclusion of the 2000 Winston Cup season. However,
Little will continue to drive the No. 97 John Deere Ford for the remainder
of the season."I appreciate the support that both John Deere and Jack Roush have given to help me get started in full-time Winston Cup racing," Little said.
Roush Racing intends to continue to operate the No. 97 team in 2001 and beyond, and expects that John Deere will continue to sponsor the team.
No driver has been selected to replace Little next season at this time.
Roush Racing is the largest motorsports team in the world with nine teams in NASCAR's three major series: Mark Martin, Jeff Burton (based in Mooresville, N.C.), Kevin Lepage, Chad Little and Matt Kenseth (Concord, N.C.) in the Winston Cup Series; Martin and Burton in the Busch Series; and Greg Biffle and Kurt Busch (Livonia, Mich.) in the Craftsman Truck Series.
