CART/BUSINESS: Deborah Schneider joins CART staff as VP of Legal Affairs

DETROIT- Championship Auto Racing Teams announced today
that Deborah Schneider has been named to the newly-created position of
Vice
President of Legal Affairs for the open-wheel racing organization. She
will
act as general counsel for the company.
"Deb is CART's most recent addition to the senior management team," said Randy Dzierzawski, CART Executive Vice President and CFO. "Prior to joining CART, she worked on several legal projects for our company. She understands our business and brings a broad range of experience and knowledge that will benefit our organization."
Prior to her arrival at CART, Schneider was a partner with the law firm Warner, Norcross & Judd in Southfield, Mich. Her practice areas included business law, advertising and marketing law and internet law. She also spent three years with Adkinson, Need, Green, Allen & Schneider in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., practicing various aspects of business and internet law in addition to doing legal work for CART.
From 1985-1996, Schneider was part of the law firm Howard & Howard, PC, where she authored a booklet on copyrights and focused on intellectual property law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan and is past president of the Oakland Bar Foundation.
Schneider is a 1982 graduate of Stanford University with a degree in economics and human biology. She received her law degree in 1985 from Wayne State University Law School. She currently resides in Rochester Hills, Mich., with her husband and two children.
