CASEY ATWOOD QUICK FACT* Casey Atwood is currently 10th in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings, 50 points behind ninth spot.
CASEY ATWOOD'S CASTROL GTX CHEVROLET IS GOOD AS NEW: The No. 27 Castrol GTX Chevrolet Monte Carlo that Casey Atwood will pilot in Sunday's Lysol 200 NASCAR Busch Series race at Watkins Glen International underwent major reconstructive surgery since it was raced in last year's event.
"It got a face lift since last year," said Jason Ratcliff, co-crew chief for the Castrol GTX Racing team. "We completely rebuilt it. New body, new suspension, everything. About the only thing we kept the same is the driver."
CASEY SCHUMACHER' ATWOOD: Don't let Casey Atwood's one start at Watkins Glen International trick you into believing that the 19-year-old driver of the No. 27 Castrol GTX Chevrolet Monte Carlo is inexperienced competing on road courses.
"Most of my karting experience came on road courses," said Atwood, a two-time World Karting Association champion. "I'm usually thought of as more of a short track racer, but I've got a lot of road racer in me too."
Atwood also honed his skills by completing a 2-Day Advanced Road Racing course at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Phoenix, Arizona in 1995.
