Mike Skinner and the Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse Racing team moved up two spots, to 11th place, in the NASCAR Winston Cup point standings after finishing ninth in the rain-delayed Pocono 500. Skinner & Co. is now 71 points behind Jeff Gordon in 10th place. They were in 12th place at this point last season.

Skinner surpassed the $6 million mark ($6,019,371) in NASCAR Winston Cup career earnings at Pocono, becoming the 34th driver to reach and exceed the milestone.

Richard Childress surpassed the $43 million mark in career earnings as a NASCAR Winston Cup car owner at Pocono. Skinner's $ 54,265 and RCR teammate Dale Earnhardt's $131,520 brought Childress' total to $43,091,818.

Larry McReynolds is the winningest NASCAR Winston Cup crew chief at Sears Point. He won the inaugural race in 1989 with Ricky Rudd for team owner Kenny Bernstein, the 1991 race with the late Davey Allison and the 1994 race with Ernie Irvan, both for team owner Robert Yates.

Skinner has a busy week in his home state of California. He will be honored Wednesday in his hometown of Susanville as part of the northern California mountain town's centennial celebration. And after qualifying Friday, he will compete in a Race of Champions event with NASCAR Winston Cup regulars Sterling Marlin and Jimmy Spencer at Watsonville (Calif.) Speedway, south of San Jose.
