DETROIT - Interim CART President and Chief Executive Officer Bobby Rahal and his wife, Debi, will be the guests of President and Mrs. Bill Clinton at The White House this evening, at a state dinner in honor of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco.

The Rahals will be among the guests at the black tie dinner honoring the Moroccan monarch, who arrived in Washington, D.C. this morning. It will mark the Rahals' first visit to The White House as guests.

Rahal was chosen last Friday to succeed former CART President and CEO Andrew Craig following his resignation. A three-time FedEx Championship Series driving champion (1986, '87 and '92), Rahal made 264 starts during his 17-year career, with 24 race victories and 18 pole positions. In addition to his duties as interim CART President and CEO, Rahal is co-owner - with entertainer David Letterman - of Team Rahal, which campaigns drivers Max Papis (Miller Lite Ford Reynard) and Kenny Brack (Shell Ford Reynard) in the FedEx Championship Series.

Championship Auto Racing Teams, Inc. (NYSE: MPH) owns, operates and markets the FedEx Championship Series, which, in 2000, is comprised of 20 races in five countries on four continents. Champions Juan Montoya, Michael Andretti and Jimmy Vasser are among the drivers who battle for the series title on oval circuits as well as temporary and permanent road courses. CART also owns and operates its top two development series -- the Dayton Indy Lights Championship and the Toyota Atlantic Championship.
