Jeff Green On Myrtle Beach: Jeff Green, current points leader and driver of the No. 10 Nestl NesQuik Chevrolet on the NASCAR Busch Series, heads to Myrtle Beach Speedway as the defending race winner.

Myrtle Beach Speedway reminds me a lot of Nashville in its shape, size and condition, said Green. Both tracks pavement is wore out, so you have to know how to drive on a slick surface. Since I cut my teeth racing at Nashville, I adapted to Myrtle Beach right from the start.

I won the race last year at Myrtle Beach and had a really funny sign waiting for me when I got home, said Green. Our neighbors keep our two dogs, Short Track and Vegas, when we are away. I named Vegas after my first NBS win at Las Vegas in 1997, so after I won Myrtle Beach, our neighbors put up a sign in the yard that read, Next dog named Myrtle. We dont have any plans to get another dog, but if we ever do, weve got a name picked out for sure.

Equipment: The NesQuik Racing team is taking the same car to Myrtle Beach that competed earlier this year at Loudon and South Boston where it finished second and first respectively. In 1999, Green produced three poles (Nazareth, Loudon and Memphis) and three wins (Nashville, Myrtle Beach and Memphis) with this car. Of its 14 starts, this car has only finished out of the top-10 twice, once at Richmond in the fall where it led the most laps, but broke an axle at the end of the race and the other time was at Phoenix where it finished 11th.

The Honeymoon Isnt Over: After they wed in 1991, Green and his wife, Michelle, honeymooned in Myrtle Beach.

Michelle and I took our honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, said Green. We never really got a chance to go to the beach growing up because both of us are from Owensboro, Kentucky and there are no beaches close by, so going there was a big deal. She and I travel to Myrtle Beach a few days early before the race each year for a mini-vacation, so it is like getting to take another honeymoon every year.
