CHICAGO - Golin/Harris International is going racing. The global public relations agency is taking a unique approach to promoting its growing motorsports practice, sponsoring its own racecar with Womens Off-Road Racing Champion Molly Morter, an employee of Golin/Harris Chicago office.

In a first for the public relations industry, Golin/Harris is putting its name on Morters car, sponsoring her 2000 season, which opens with the Kiwanis Off-Road Championship on Saturday, June 11 in Antigo, Wisconsin. Morter competes in the Sportsman Single Buggy Class of the Exxon Superflo Championship Off-Road Racing Series (CORR), which holds 18 events on off-road courses throughout the Midwest. The races are televised on ESPN2 and Speedvision. Morters team graphics, which appear on her car, driving suit and other equipment, were designed by Golin/Harris CrossMedia division.

Many of our clients effectively use motorsports marketing to build their brands, and we are joining the parade, said Dave Gilbert, president of Golin/Harris International. Our involvement in motorsports continues to grow, and what better way to promote our expertise and experience than with a racecar driven by one of our motorsports team members. We are proud to sponsor Molly Morters car, and hope she brings home the series championship again.

"I joined Golin/Harris because of its motorsports practice, but never dreamed the agency would be my sponsor, said Molly Morter, the 24-year-old driver and account executive. Their commitment to my racing and professional career is a dream come true. I can't wait to get my #333 Golin/Harris Motorsports Dune Buggy out on the track."

Golin/Harris more than doubled its revenue in the motorsports area over the past 12 months. The company is now overseeing the DaimlerChrysler Motorsports program, which includes the companys return to the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, the Craftsman Truck Series, National Hot Rod Association, World of Outlaws, LeMans and the Neon Celebrity Challenge Series.
