CORR: Kincaid wins season opening round, Millen finishes second in Antigo

ANTIGO, Wis. - Jeff Kincaid piloted his new Toyota Tacoma to victory in the opening round of the Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) series in Antigo, Wis., today. Rod Millen earned second place in the CORR Pro-4 class in a new four-wheel-drive Toyota Tundra.
Kincaid, a native of Crandon, Wis., won his third career Pro-Lite event, including the opening round of last year's event in Antigo. Starting third in a field of ten trucks, Kincaid parlayed a great start into the lead by turn one. After leading by as much as 18 seconds, he finished a commanding 15 seconds ahead of the second-place truck. A third and second place overall finisher in the Pro-Lite class the last two years, Kincaid is considered one of the favorites for the championship in 2000.
Millen, a native of New Zealand who resides in Newport Beach, Calif., tied his career best finish since entering the CORR series last year, which included two seconds last year. He quickly moved from his seventh-place starting position to third by the first turn. Millen patiently shadowed Adrian Cenni until taking second on lap five.
Johnny Greaves, a local competitor from DePere, Wis., started his first-ever Pro-2 race in a new two-wheel-drive Tundra after winning 21 races and two Pro-Lite championships the last two years. Starting from the front row, he became entangled with a group of trucks on a front-straight jump and was spun out from behind. After recovering, Greaves quickly passed four competitors by the third lap but had to retire the truck due to a mechanical problem.
Millen, Greaves and Kincaid will each compete in Sunday's second round at the Langlade County Fairgrounds in Antigo. Round 1 will be broadcast on ESPN2 on June 22, while Sunday's race will be broadcast on July 2. The three will move on to race the CORR Bush Run in Crandon, Wis.on June 24-25.
