ON RACING AT SOUTH BOSTON
Ive run pretty good there in the past so we expect to do well there this weekend. Theyve added an inside wall around the track, so that will make the track a little narrower. What that also does is take away a few places that were escape areas, meaning that if things got a little crowded, there were areas you could move inside to avoid problems. Now those areas are gone.
ON NOT BEING ABLE TO CHANGE THE CAR FOLLOWING QUALIFYING
I think its good that you cant make any changes to the car after qualifying because it will allow the AFG Glass Team to focus on one set-up instead of two. At most races, you spend the first day working on the qualifying set-up, then you have very little time for the race set-up. Here, you have to qualify with your race set-up so it gives you more time to get the race set-up right.
One the down side, track position is very important here because there are so many cars and it is a short track. If you dont qualify well, then you can easily get caught up in someone elses problems. And if you are near the back, you could be lapped within a couple of laps.
