NASCAR WCUP: Ward Burton likes the feel of Michigan International Speedway

"I really like tracks like Michigan. They're big, flat and fast. We have run really well there in the past, but problems have prevented us from showing it in the finish column. We're hoping to turn that around this week." - Ward Burton, driver of the Caterpillar Racing Pontiac

BALDWIN ON DOVER

"We were okay for most of the day. We had one really bad run, which is when we got down that lap to the leader. We tweaked the car all day, but tweaked it too much and overcorrected the problem, which got us behind on that run. We eventually got the car handling for Ward and he was able to get back to the front. We're happy that we finished eighth, but disappointed we lost points to Bobby Labonte."

BALDWIN ON MICHIGAN

"We're bringing back the same car that we ran at California and won at Darlington. We kept the car exactly the way it was except for the new changes that NASCAR gave the Pontiacs. We hope those changes will get us back in the ballgame with the rest of the field."

BALDWIN ON CHANGES GRANTED FOR PONTIAC

"I think they gave us about half of what we need to be equal in comparison to the other manufacturers. It's a plus, just not a major plus. It is certainly going to help a little, but I think we still need more. I doubt we'll get it with Pontiacs running one-two in the points.

"I feel like they still need to make one more change in the rear and then make a little bit of a change on the front to even out the balance. But we got the major piece that we wanted, so we'll just have to work with what we got. We will implement the changes for this weekend. The next couple of weeks we're going to tracks where we'll see what it has done for us. But we're still bringing a knife to a gunfight. We'll see what happens."
