Daryl Campbell of Indianapolis, Ind. is the new point leader in
the USAC
Regional Midget Car Series at the Indianapolis Speedrome after his victory
in Thursday night's 50-lap feature event. He had flipped his Jack's
Pizza/AFCO Shocks on the opening lap of Wednesday night's main event, then
came back to lead the final 27 laps of Thursday's race.
Norm Young of Franklin, Ind. captured Wednesday night's race, leading all 50 laps in his Matlock Ford/IFI Floors/Kelly Custom Home Designs/Dave's Guns & Tubs VW. John Batts, Matt Lux, Andy Anderson and Geoff McGill trailed Young to the checkered flag after a first-lap crash included flips by Campbell and Brad Kuhn.
Trailing Campbell to the checkered flag Thursday night were Rick Treadway, David Fuhrman, Kuhn and Lux. Eric Roberts led the first three laps of Thursday's race, Kuhn led the next 10 and Treadway took over for 10 before yielding to the eventual winner.
