INDY 500: Allure of Indy attracts more than sports coverage

INDIANAPOLIS- Many national non-sports media outlets are providing extensive coverage of the 84th Indianapolis 500 on race weekend, as the Greatest Spectacle in Racing continues to be one of the classic worldwide events that transcends sports.

Inside Edition: Covered Pace Car driver Anthony Edwards, star of the hit television show ER, and his efforts with the Cure Autism Now foundation.

Friday, May 26

E! Entertainment: Covered Pace Car driver Anthony Edwards, Coors Carb Day headline act Smash Mouth and other celebrities attending the race.

Oxygen Media: Covering rookie Sarah Fisher for feature story.

Saturday, May 27

Good Morning America: Rookie Sarah Fisher was featured in a remote interview with co-host Charlie Gibson.

The Weather Channel: Live remotes from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway twice per hour from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (EDT).

Sunday, May 28

CNN News: Will report live from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with a feature on Indianapolis 500 starter Lyn St. James.

The winner of the 84th Indianapolis 500 also will have a full schedule of media interviews and other functions next week, including an appearance on CNNSI, throwing out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium on May 30 and a personal tour of the New York Stock Exchange on May 31.
